About the Artist: Cynthia Boehm, a beadwork artist from the Red River, is deeply rooted in her Cree-Métis heritage, inspired by her family’s creativity and her grandmother's historic beadwork which is housed at the Manitoba Museum. Her passion for historic Cree-Métis art, particularly the vibrant designs from her home community Norway House, Manitoba during the fur trade era, drives her work. Cynthia is a celebrated artist, recognized in various competitions, including awards from the Santa Fe Indian Market and the Manitoba Society of Artists. She also conducts workshops in beadwork and moccasin making. Cynthia’s work honors her ancestors and her grandmother’s legacy, reflecting her deep connection to her cultural heritage.
